Comets Cup
The Comets Cup is an initiative to encourage junior development and participation in Rugby League, while providing an opportunity for the Comets to support their young fans.
The Under 11 Primary Schools competition includes one ‘knock out' round, two semi finals and a grand final to determine the winning school.
Schools are selected from the Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast Under 11 competition, with all of the A-grade teams and the top B-grade teams making up the eight participating schools.
Grand Final - August 4
The Grand Final of the 2007 Comets Cup was played out on Saturday night between Yeppoon State Primary School and the Rockhampton Grammar School, with Yeppoon taking the title, and the Cup, for 2007.
The Grand Final was a close game, with the final score only 10 points to 6. Both sides showed great skill in attack and defence.
Player of the Match for Yeppoon was Mitchell Hunter, with Sean Flanaghan taking out Player of the Match for Rockhampton Grammar.
